The Mozilla Blog

So many people on the internet have switched to Mozilla Firefox, from tech-savvy grannies to computarded teenagers, that it has become one of the leading browsers for internet browsing (and, arguably, the best of them all). This all despite the fact that it promotes ideas and philosophies that most non-technical people can barely grasp, like open-source software.

What can you do to improve your webertoire (web and repertoire, heh) when it comes to the huge non-profit company Mozilla? Easy -- just read The Mozilla Blog! That is right, you can go to one site to keep up-to-date on all information coming from Mozilla, easily and effectively.

ThisIsWhyImBroke

Hey there, blogographers. I have a special treat here today that, while perhaps not entirely meeting the exact criteria one may have for being a "blog," is still a very cool site with a vague blog structure.

This particular site is ThisIsWhyImBroke [sic], which is built up around the idea of displaying awesome things that the authors run across on the internet, whether it cost pennies or dozens of G's (the money kind of G, of course). While there are many practical purchase options on the "blog," it still features quite a few wacky items for ridiculous prices.

Ya know. In case you happened to be fabulously wealthy, of course. ;P

Everybody who has read my blog knows that I am no serious fan of the "random" blog genre. I think it's honestly more than overdone; I believe the internet is inundated and saturated with random blogs. This is why it is so relieving to find random blogs that are actually good. They usually still have structure, and are less like diaries and journals as they are like blogs centered around the interests of the writer.

Such a rare blog is Eye of the Beholder, a blog penned by the very well-written Patres, a man of distinctive knowledgeable taste. Eye of the Beholder is for whatever Patres wishes to write about, though the articles have a general, background flow to them.

Lifehacker

It's about that time for another Gawker Media network blog here on Blogographer (and, no, they do not sponsor me, haha)!

This time, I will be featuring Lifehacker, blogging kin to such other successful sites as Jalopnik, Kotaku, and Gizmodo (among others) by Gawker. According to their about page and byline, Lifehacker is about, "tips, tricks, and downloads for getting things done." If that is not descriptive enough for ya, then their about page also has a helpful little video on it.

Gizmodo

As my readers might be able to tell by now, I have something for gadgets and technology. There's been quite a few blog posts now about them (see Geekologie, Techinit, TechEBlog) on Blogographer now, so perhaps it might be a time to give them a little rest -- but not before I drop one of the best tech gadget blogs out there currently.

I'm talking about Gizmodo. Now, this is one you've probably heard about or stumbled across in your time on the Internet, but there's still likely many who have not. This blog is an incredible technology blog that features the latest news in gadgets and tech. Of course, it doesn't cover all tech news there is to be had, but I've yet to find a blog that can.

The site lacks in one area, however: I always walk away from the articles with more questions than answers, and I have to look up much of the information that I was not provided with in the article itself. Some may say short is always better, but I say a bit more information may help. I will give it to them, though; they do give me the information in the first place to think about.

L.A. Noire Videos

Everybody has heard of the infamous Grand Theft Auto series - whether it be because of having played the game, or just through those rumors about 'hot coffee' and such. They are so popular that their developer, Rockstar Games, has boomed out to lead alongside other major developers at the head of the gaming industry. So whenever they announce a new game, it's sure to rustle some interest; so, then, what is their next game?

The answer to the question is L.A. Noire. Of the game, Wikipedia says, "As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir - stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex and moral ambiguity and were often shot in black and white with harsh, low-key lighting. The game uses a distinctive coloring-style in homage to the visual style of film noir. The post-war setting is the backdrop for plot elements that reference the detective films of the '40s, such as corruption and drugs, with a classical jazz soundtrack."

Of course, this game has spawned many posts on blogs and on the internet in general. One particularly interesting post is not just a post at all - rather, an entire blog, focused on L.A. Noire.
