100 Posts!

Well, there it is, folks. This post officially marks the one-hundredth blog post on Blogographer. I had 99 posts, but a hundredth wasn't one of them! Now, that's been changed. Post count will be in the triple digits from this point forward, an odd but proud thing to see.

What a long, strange trip it's been, but I could not have done it without you guys. Considering I received almost four followers per post up to this point, I think I would consider Blogographer a raging success. It may not be some Gawker Media bigshot, but I am glad to say that I feel accomplished.

Why I Enjoy Paying Taxes

I'm sure that title caught your attention, eh?

It must come as little surprise to you (or anyone else, to be honest) that nobody likes to pay taxes. Not one bit. Or.. is there one out there that really does? It would appear that the only guy in the world who happily pays his taxes has opened a blog about it. He must be interesting; I mean, come on!, he's got 57 reasons so far to enjoy paying taxes, and I've yet to find the first! That's creativity right there.

While many bloggers open a blog with a generic niche (see Blogographer), there's always the one guy with something to say. Even then, much of the time, that one guy blows a lot of hot air. This time, though, Pittsburghian videographer and writer Mike is that one guy, and there's nothing average about Mike. Not even when it comes to taxes.

One Four Zero

So I happened to be talking to an internet acquaintance of mine from the Philippines, and he linked me to his blog. Many blogs I get linked to are half-baked attempts at a little internet infamy, and quickly crumble away. However, when I checked out his blog, I was pleasantly surprised.

I found that it was very well done, with a custom layout and all. It's not a bad layout at all, either, if you ask me. So, I decided to do a bit of reading through his posts, and I get my second shocker: they're well-written!

No One I Think Is In My Tree

UPDATE: I apologize that this post was late. It should have been Friday's post, instead of the new-blog spotlight, but I was busy with family. Normal posts on a normal schedule will be up on Monday.

Philosophy is an under-appreciated but phenomenally important area of intellectuality. Whether it comes down to the basic understanding of what is right and wrong, to the difference between one gray area and another, philosophy is present. It is a powerful tool in the art of persuasion and in logic, being able to turn the tides of a discussion in favor of he or she with the best understanding.

No One I Think Is In My Tree is a blog dedicated (mostly) to the examination and introduction of select philosophical topics -- and some good, classic rock, of course.

Here's an example of something one would find on this blog:

"If you want to discover a principle, doubt of anything that isn't 100% true all the time. The sensible world isn't certain, thus my senses aren't trustworthy. Anything I consider logic and true now can just be an illusion, a deceive. But, if it is indeed an illusion, there's necessarily someone who is being deceived. If the world is imaginary, there's somebody conducting cerebral processes and imagining the whole thing. Thus, If I think, I must exist."
