shirtstuckedin

Today's blog feature is one for the auto enthusiasts, as well as those who may not necessarily be auto enthusiasts but might enjoy checking out some (cool) cars. This particular site goes by the very odd name of shirtstuckedin, which the writer explains he came up with when, "[just] over 14 months ago I was out one night on my BMX with a mate getting some fresh air when I randomly said I was going to start a blog called shirtstuckedin, at the time I had my tee tucked in as it was a little cold."

Genius.

Awesome and odd name aside, the site has a whole buttload of kick-ass photographs of even more kick-ass cars, from all over the place. The author, a one Casey John Dhnaram, seems to quite enjoy Japanese stuff as well, as the blog is rife with kanji and kata. Even better, he ain't a half-bad photographer!

Daily Car Reviews

Today on Blogographer, I am featuring a wonderful blog on cars, that goes by the name of Daily Car Reviews. The blog displays, "reviews, pictures, specifications, and more," going all the way down to the bones of the particular car-maker in question to get a good review. Impressed is just one of the words I would use for Daily Car Reviews.

Here's a sample of the Spyker C12 Zagato post:

"This article is about the former car manufacturer Spyker, who are now known as Spyker Cars. Spyker was a Dutch car manufacturer that started back in 1880 by Jacobus and Hendrik-Jan Spijker. To make the brand market internationally they decided to change the 'Ij' into 'y'. Started in Hilversum and moved to Trompenburg, Amsterdam in 1898.In this year they made the "Golden Carriage" which is still in use by the Royal Family of the Netherlands.

Jalopnik

Technology isn't the only recurring theme on my blog, it would appear -- it seems that automobiles are making their way steadily to becoming a staple here on Blogographer. Today's post just further hammers the point, as the feature is on an incredibly popular automobile (and related) blog, well-known on the internet and in the automobile world.

That blog is Jalopnik, one of the infamous Gawker Media blogs. I recently blogged about another Gawker Media blog, known as Gizmodo. Sister blogs aside, Jalopnik has established itself as a powerful blog regardless of it's affiliations, covering up-to-date automobile news while still staying interesting. Here's an example of a post one might find there:

"Remember the playground bully? The kid twice your size who repeated first grade just so he could be larger and stronger? In the automotive world, that bully's name is Bugatti, and I just saw him back down from a fight with something even more menacing.

I've had enough of Veyron this and the world's fastest car that. I'm over it. And so is John Hennessey. John has been shaking up the automotive playground since he first showed up years ago with his Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, a 1,200-horsepower, V10 monster. Think 0-200 MPH in 20.2 seconds."
Anyone with a bit of car knowledge can tell that this Hennessey Venom is no car to be toyed with if it can scare the Bugatti Veyron even before it races. What's better? The writer of the article on the site was actually a passenger in the Venom when it terrified its legendary opponent. Talk about first-hand experience.

Ultimate Car Garage

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit biased towards the blogs of icycooL, but give me a break -- they're good stuff! Since today is the Friday spotlight for new but promising blogs, I think this one is just as deserving as the last. So, let me introduce to my loyal readers: Ultimate Car Garage!

Cars are beautiful machines. They are incredibly complex, and to fully understand them requires years of time and labor. It would not be fair to the automobiles to say that they can be completely comprehended in a summary; however, icycooL hopes to deliver a little bit of basic knowledge so that some readers may take the first steps into understanding.

Want to become a little car smart? Get into gear and check out Ultimate Car Garage!
