Eye of the Beholder

To visit Eye of the Beholder via direct link, or without having to go through the article, please click here: http://steadytest.blogspot.com/

Everybody who has read my blog knows that I am no serious fan of the "random" blog genre. I think it's honestly more than overdone; I believe the internet is inundated and saturated with random blogs. This is why it is so relieving to find random blogs that are actually good. They usually still have structure, and are less like diaries and journals as they are like blogs centered around the interests of the writer.

Such a rare blog is Eye of the Beholder, a blog penned by the very well-written Patres, a man of distinctive knowledgeable taste. Eye of the Beholder is for whatever Patres wishes to write about, though the articles have a general, background flow to them.

Here's an excerpt from EotB's "Keep your helmets on! 2005 YU55 near pass:"

A little bit of this and not so much of that

The blogs I write about almost always have a specific niche, whether it be technology, videogames, or even saving money in daily life. Not often enough to do I write about those simple blogs whose only goal is to entertain the reader with stories and images, a concept from the webdays of old.

This is because not often enough are there even good blogs to write about with this sort of premise. They're usually either so wild and unruly, or entirely uninteresting, that I can't see any reason to post them on my blog for featuring.

Big League Stew

There's something all of you blogographers out there should know: I love baseball. So, in addition to those certain niches that receive a lot more attention than others (i.e. gaming, gadgets, etc.), baseball will probably be seeing a lot more posts on my blog.

Today's post, then, is appropriately about baseball. This particular blog is Big League Stew, a blog run by Yahoo! Sports that focuses on MLB. If you want the most up-to-date news on whatever is going on in the MLB, Big League Stew has it for you.

CraftHub

Before we start, if you don't know what Minecraft is, please see the Wikipedia article, the official site, and a  good wiki. Perhaps even buy the game (we all know you want to, now!).

Minecraft, the official sponsor of Minecraft.
Minecraft -- the massive, überawesome game of Legos that we always wished for. It's a sandbox for that six year-old boy or girl at the back of your mind (or the front, for some manchildren and ladykids). Thanks to the skilled game developer and programmer Notch, this game is constantly expanding into something that is more than just a sandbox game. For some people, it's becoming a bonafide hobby of it's own.

Info Pictures

Most of the blogs I feature are blogs with a specific purpose, whether that purpose is savings, dogs, physics, etc. Mostly, I tend to stray away from "random" or "my life" blogs because they're generally not interesting or don't hold our interest for long. One-shot wonders, they are.

However, sometimes there is a really good blog that is somewhat random, but in that is the main selling point: they are only somewhat random, such as in Info Pictures, a blog written by SweetShop. While not focusing on a specific subject, the niche is clear: infodocs.

Infodocs are fun pictures, usually quite long, that list out interesting information about a specific subject. They're far from boring; in fact, they utilize information in a way that will keep you quite enthralled. The information is compared against other information, such as WoW making more annually than the GDP of Samoa. Can you believe that?

If you want more interesting information, check out Info Pictures.
